Win a Catit Interactive Feeding Station!

We always hear about how we need to keep dogs active and keep their minds challenged with puzzles or jobs. But rarely do you hear people talk about the need to keep your cats active and their minds challenged. That is until you own one and find yourself standing in the cat toy aisle wondering what magical toy can keep your cat from chewing cords and attempting to scale the walls as if they were trees (oh, is that just my cat? Hmm…).

One of the first investments I made for my younger cat was a water fountain. She was a feral when I took her in and I often found her standing with her front paws in the water dish and scooting it around the floor and drinking the water that was splashing up. If she could have looked up at me and said “HINT, HINT!” I think she would have. But both of my cats love our water fountain and drink from it far more than a stagnant bowl of water.

However, the challenges with my young feral did not end there. I soon found myself buying every toy I could find in an attempt to keep her occupied and therefore less destructive. I just kept thinking “I swear I adopted a kitten, not a puppy! What is going on here?” And then one day I found myself standing in the cat toy aisle staring at all of the toys trying to find one that my cat had not already destroyed, when I ran into someone else with the same exasperated look on their face. That was when I realized that it was not just my crazy cat that had an energy that just could not be harnessed. I made it my mission to find not just toys, but interactive toys and toys that we could play with together to keep her brain stimulated. There are now fewer chewed cords and torn couches, although there is still some attempted wall climbing, but overall it is a much better environment for me, my senior cat, and my younger cat.

So now for the good part! The FREE stuff you have all been waiting for!! We are giving away a complete Catit Feeding Station. It will include a Catit Fresh & Clear Drinking Fountain, the matching placemat, and the Catit Design Senses Treat Maze.

My cat Piper was a shelter rescue, she came to me, morbidly obese. She has been on a diet, and lost a total of 4 pounds so far. I spread her food out, and make her work for it. This would be absolutely perfect for her. :) She deserves a healthy 2nd lease on life.

Awe! Good job on getting Piper to loose 4 lbs! That is quite a success!! And we are glad to hear that you chose to adopt from a shelter! :)

My cats would love this. I have one male cat who should have been named Garfield he loves food so much. My other lady cat, JeenerBeener likes to bug him and so this would give her something to do besides bother him. I liked you guys on facebook and posted this contest on my website, although the box to list the website won’t work for me? But here is the link to the post on my blog: http://howdyfenceneighbor.blogspot.com/2012/01/fidos-future-giveaway.html

It sounds like feeding time in your house is an adventure! Hahaha. I’m not sure which box you are referring to. Honestly I am still sort of new to this whole blogging thing. But if you need any thing from me, feel free to email me at becki @ fidosfuture.com. And thank you for posting our giveaway to your blog!

With many cats in or cattery, we have to free feed. Some are at those feeders a bit to much. We play with them to keep them active, but this feeding station would be a big help to them physically and mentally! I liked you on Facebook and posted this contest on our FB page! Thanks

It is hard to decide whether to free feed or have set meal times. And with multiple cats set meal times can be hard because if one cat isn’t hungry the other cats will just eat double (I know from experience, LOL). Thank you for sharing our contest! And thank you for your dedication to keeping the rescue kitties active!

I just purchased a “food toy” for my kitties…was hoping they would all catch on to the interactive filled ball of cat food but only the youngest did! The other “chubbies” watch her do all the work and reap the rewards…..I have 6 kitties, 3 fit and trim and 3 not so fit and trim. Five were rescued from a feral colonies. Since the food is always available they love to eat. I think this is a wonderful feeding interactive idea. I think this would be a very helpful tool to get them to not eat so much!

    • Becki
      January 27, 2012 at 2:39 pm

Pacing a feral kitty’s eating can be a difficult task!! It is pretty funny though that the others kitties let the little one do the work and then steal the food. Hahaha. Feral cats can be a real challenge so I am so glad to hear that you rescued not just one, but 5! That is amazing!

I have a cat that is very very playful that we just rescued. she seems to have too much energy to get along with my older cat so this interactive feeder just might keep her occupied and not think so much about bothering old Mister! hahaha

I have 6 cats, and one cat that we rescued is now 13 he was 9 when we got him but he’s chubby, and he was declawed :( when we got him, and his little feet are broken down like at his ankle :( And if he lost some weight it would really help him. I can’t take the food away because of the other cats. Good luck everyone!

I have 3 wonderful rescue cats that have rescued me. Wolf and Spice are 3 and Tribe is 4.5 years old and very playful. One of the favorite games is when I pick up all the toys and put them in the toy basket. They immediately take them out one by one and spread them around the house again. I have a flowing water feeder for them and they love it. Wolf and Spice are both boys and love to chase and rough house through out the apartment. Some times Tribe joins in. She is more my cuddle buddy. But I think they would all enjoy the challenge and variety of this style of feeding. I usually free feed because otherwise Tribe doesn’t get to eat very much, the boys are more aggressive than she is.

I have an older overweight cat and a kitten. The older cat is a diabetic and would really benefit from having to “work” for his kibble. The challenge will keep him young and help him not to pig out straight from the food bowl. Plus he absolutly loves drinking from the faucet, so a water fountain would make his day. The kitten will stay lean and healthy by drinking more water and really enjoy figuring out the “treats maze.” Plus I’ll get to have fun watching them both! Now off to “like” you on Facebook, just look for my name!

I have 4 cats, two males and two females ranging in age from 3 to somewhere around 8.(3 of our 4 are rescues) Our 3 year old (Tigs) has a few behaviour problems and would undoubtedly benefit from mental stimulation (food maze)… it might help the others that he plagues with his more ‘playful ‘ behaviour (does diving on your brother or sisters count as play? They don’t think so!) They all love drinking fountains. Tigs actually puts his paw in the gravity feed one we keep out on the patio and moves it around… it gets the water glugging out for fresher water… or that’s what we keep telling ourselves!

  • Mary

I live by myself with three beautiful kitties. Unfortunately, I am in treatment for breast cancer and I haven’t been able to give them all of the attention they so dearly deserve. I’m mostly bedridden, which gives us lots of cuddle time; however, by the looks of their growing bellies, I know they miss our daily play sessions. On my trips to the bathroom, all three of them run to their basket of toys in anticipation. This feeding station would be a great way for them to have fun without my involvement. I know they would have just as much fun with the fountain as well as the feeder, and I would have peace of mind knowing they always had fresh, clean water as well as their daily play! I’ve “Liked” you on Facebook and I thank you for this opportunity >^.^<

I have an extremely obese long-term foster who stands guard over the food and water, intimidating the other cats. She desperately needs a system where she would have to work for her food, so she can lose some weight and find her forever home!

    January 28, 2012 at 3:40 pm

Our two cats are indoors in a small home. But for some reason they don’t seem inclined to play with toys. Food however, might be a different thing. A play system with food might keep their bodies & minds active and more healthy.

I adopted my cat, Arthur, from the Humane Society last year, and since then he’s gotten into everything! He destroys his toys faster than I can buy them, although some of them mysteriously disappear. He’s extremely smart and has learned to open doors and how to incite chase-around-the-apartment time. But what makes him need interactive toys is his destructive capabilities. I’m afraid my husband is going to go nutty because Arthur has destroyed most of his Star Wars memorabilia. He’s such a sweetheart but needs to be kept busy!

We have 3 cats, our oldest Shadow really needs to keep busy and active for his health. Our younger kitties are full of energy and curiousity and need to be kept entertained. The cat toys that are available just seem to bore our cats. This interactive feeding station would be entertaining for all our kitty family.
    Thanks so much.

My cat, Bailey, was a shelter cat. Although we’ve had him for over 2 years, he still attacks his food as if he were afraid that someone else would beat him to it. As a result, weight is a problem. He also has an unfortunate favorite game of knocing my keyboard and computer mouse off the desk. (Apparently he’s not convinced when I tell im it isn’t that kind of mouse!) This prize might be a really good fit for him.

I’m often working on the computer, and so that gives my cats a chance to into things they shouldn’t- like my lower cabinets. I don’t want to get up every 5 minutes just to check on them to make sure they are behaving.

We just adopted two around Christmas time from Animal Control in our county. All three need to be kept busy because it’s too cold outside to introduce them to the great outdoors. It’s almost like setting them up to fail to not keep them busy because there is so much to get into trouble in a 940 sq. ft. house with 3 dogs and 3 cats. Plus….I need the kitties to leave my crochet alone! :0)

We have 2 cats. Lena Shay is laid back and doesn’t need much entertaining or attention. However, Athena Rose, she is something else. She is always into something, stealing stuff, messing with my plants, dragging plastic bags through the house, taking socks, ect. I think Athena has ADHD. I think the Catit Interactive feeding station would help keep her occupied and out of trouble for at least 2 hours a day!

I have two male cats, 10 and 11 respectively. They are the best of friends most of the time but, occasionally they tend to get on each others nerves. :) . I work full time so they have run of the house and they do pretty good but, I feel that they need more stimulation. I play with them a lot when I get home with the laser mouse and furry (fake) mice. They are up there in age and they need more activity when I am not here to supply that. I would love for them to win and be able to have a great luxury in life. thank you.

Ummm, my cat needs to be kept busy, because she’s 21 lbs and could really lose some weight. We affectionately call her roadblock or various other loving terms. I even shared this product with my husband as a way of keeping her busy. He stated that she’d probably get our small cat to work at getting the food down and then she’d eat it. Not sure, but I’d sure love to give it a try.

My sister just moved in with my fiance and I and brought her cat, Scooty, with her. He just a turned a year old and he’s a bit of a trouble maker, his biggest problem is splashing the water from his water bowl everywhere (ruining quite a bit of carpet). The drinking fountain would be so wonderful to try, as I believe he doesn’t like the stagnant water. his other mischievous qualities might be curbed as well if he has to be active to eat, so the feeding station would be so great for him too!
